Living in Denmark, and currently in Hong Kong, there are many brands that I can’t access. So of course, I like to shop online. Here are some sites I wanna share with you. Looking for makeup-sites, the main criteria for me is of course that they ship internationally. I am so jealous of makeup-geeks from the States – they get all the cheap drugstore makeup, and access to so much more online!
Bare in mind that the shipping fees those web sites inform, are excluding taxes and other fees your country/EU put on. So you might risk to pay extra for that.
What led me to this page was actually because I was searching for a NYX bronzer. When I visited the site, they had 40% off all NYX products!! And they also have Milani which I’d never tried before. They have many brands I’d not heard about, fx. LA Girl where I ordered some eye pencils, and they are one of the best I’ve tried.
They required me to send in some extra identity documentation. It’s great that they have those extra security precautions to make sure that no one is misusing a credit card. They also only ship to an address that is the same as the billing address. I think they do all this to prevent misuse.
The packaging was over my expectation. Everything was so tightly wrapped, that all my stuff couldn’t get a single scratch.
Some brands to mention from this site: NYX, Milani, Mehron, LA Girl
Shipping: International shipping. I paid 18,95USD for my last order. They have a very clear description of their shipping details here
Why cherryculture: great security precautions, excellent packaging, great deals/items on sale
Love Makeup UK
I learned about this site via Wayne Goss(gossmakeupartist). They have many good brands, but bare in mind that UK prices are more expensive than US prices for the same stuff. But they have a great customer service.
Some brands to mention from this site: BECCA, Ben Nye, Embryolisse, Real Techniques, Bdellium Brushes, Graftobian, Lime Crime, Kett Cosmetics, Makeup Atelier Paris, Skindinavia etc. etc. etc!!!!!
Shipping: International shipping. Within EU 8,95£, outside EU 12,5£. More details here
Why lovemakeupuk: they have so many awesome brands, they throw in samples, relatively cheap shipping
It’s a very long time ago since I shopped from this site. But it’s awesome because they have my favourite drugstore brands. And they’re cheap. But I think it’s because they are kind of a wholesale/outlet kind of site. Good for looking for cheap makeup products. However, when I did my last purchase, the packaging was so poor that some of the products were broken.
Some brands to mention: Maybelline, NYX, Revlon, Rimmel
Shipping: Most countries in Europe, and Australia, Canada, New Zealand, US. But they do NOT ship to Asian countries. Details here
Why eastendcosmetics: cheap, good drugstore brands
You all must know ASOS! Clothes, shoes, bags, beauty products – everything. It has been a while since I shopped there though. As I remembered it, delivery was not free in the olden days. Now, they have free worldwide delivery – which is awesome! Makes me much more inclined to order from ASOS next time I shop online.
Some brands to mention: bareMinerals, Benefit, Illamasqua, Rimmel, Stila, Too Faced
Shipping: Free delivery worldwide!!! Delivering time: Europe 6-12 days, and Asia 9-20 days. Details here
Why ASOS: free international shipping, not only makeup
Eyes. Lips. Face. I learned about their products only a while ago, and I love the idea that they make affordable makeup products where some of it is actually very decent. I have been buying many of their products, and for me, it’s kind of hit and miss. As long as I’m aware of, elf is not in HK (nor can it be delivered here). But Danes can order from the UK site, and the shipping is pretty cheap. I love shopping at elf, especially when they do the 40% off sometimes.
Products to mention: Kabuki brush, Contouring Blush and Bronzing powder, eyelid primer, baked blushes, shine eraser(blotting papers), studio mist & set (setting spray)
Shipping: European countries for only 3,95£. Details here
Why ELF: it’s cheap, they have some decent products for good prices, some of the products are indeed much hyped by some makeup lovers
I love my Sigma brushes. And for those of you that aren’t much into brushes (yet), here is a good place to start. For example with this set that costs 120USD for 12 brushes and a brush holder. I’m not saying that ALL Sigma brushes are super great, but they are very good for the price. For me, expensive brushes do not always equal good brushes anyway. The small eye brushes are around 10USD and bigger face brushes are around 20USD.
However, I think they are pushing it a little with their makeup range. – too expensive for the brand they have marketed themselves to be. And for example with their new brush glove, the price is 40$ which I think is pushing it a little(but I really do want this glove!). And their Dry’n Shape which I have for drying brushes. All amazing products, just a little too expensive for my taste.
My favourite Sigma brushes/stuff: Dry’n Shape, The Synthetic Precision Kit, E30 Pencil, E45 Small Tapered Blending, F82 Round Kabuki, F80 Flat Kabuki(want), E20 Short Shader (want)
Shipping: Internal shipping. I couldn’t find a description on the site, but I know it’s about 35-40USD per shipping to Hong Kong (and probably the same for other places outside the US). So it would be a good idea to find other friends and make one huge order together to save on the shipping fee.
Why Sigma: affordable and good quality brushes.
You can get everything from clothing, accessories to makeup and skincare products here. I have not shopped here before, so can’t really share any experience of this one. But the site looks good, and I’ve heard many people talking about shopping at Nordstrom.
Some of the brands: Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Clinique, Elemis, Estee Lauder, Kevyn Aucoin Beauty, LORAC, MAC, Nordstrom Beauty, SK II, theBalm, Stila, Tom Ford, and a whole bunch of brands I don’t know.
Shipping: International shipping. But wonder of it’s expensive. Click here for their shipping policy.
Why Nordstrom: Not only beauty products, wide range of brands, seems quite popular
I have not shopped here before. It’s a wholesale/outlet online shop where you can find yourself some good deals if you look long enough. They have both high end and drugstore products. So it’s worth a look.
Some of the brands: makeupforever, wet n wild, Covergirl, Almay, Kiehl’s, Urban Decay, Benefit, Mac, Tarte etc.
Shipping: International shipping details here. They don’t ship fragrances, nail enamels or pressured pack products internationally. They do claim that they will not take responsibility for any damage caused by heat in the summer months. And it is recommended to use FedEx or USPS in order to make your package trackable.
Why allcosmeticswholesale: find some good deals if you’re lucky, cheap
I have not shopped here before. As I can see, the advantage of this site is the huge range of products and incredibly many brands available. Looks like their main focus is hair products, but there’s a lot of makeup you can choose from. The prices are standard(if not a little high), unless you look under the Offer section of course.
Some of the Brands: BECCA, Benefit, Japonesque, Real Techniques, Stila, The Balm, Urban Decay,
Why Lookfantastic: wide range of brands, free international shipping
Shipping: Free worldwide delivery. If you want to track your package, it’s 4,99£. Details here
The thing with BeautyBay is that they have free worldwide shipping, but it also reflects on their prices. For example with an Urban Decay eyeshadow palette, it’s about 10$ more expensive. The delivery is quick and pain free though. The available brands are high end. Good if you live in a country where you can’t access these brands, but if you do, you might as well go out and feel/touch the products in the stores before you buy. One cool feature of the site is that you can set the prices to many different currencies.
Brands: bareMinerals, Face Aterlier, Stila, Too Faced, Urban Decay
Shipping: Free worldwide delivery
Country: UK (I think)
I have not shopped here before. When visiting this site, I get a feeling of a virtual version of a small niche boutique. Looks like the biggest brands on this site are Makeup Forever and Kett. They have a really large selection of the Kett products. The prices seem very standard – no big savings here. But really seems like a cool shop with some niche products.
Some of the brands: Ben Nye, DUO, Embryolisse, Kett Cosmetics, Makeup Forever, Paris Berlin etc.
Shipping: They ship internationally, but it says that the costs depend on weight and country. Sounds expensive to me.
